- Hidden Memories is Dark Dome’s latest escape room-style puzzler
- Play as amnesiac protagonist Lucian, aided (or perhaps hindered) by a mysterious girl
- Reconstruct the previous night’s events that left you where you are
When it comes to story-based puzzlers, I think that it’s fair to say amnesia is a bit of a cliché. Not necessarily an unwelcome one of course, as Hidden Memories shows. And if you think you can handle waking up in an unfamiliar place and piecing things back together, then great news as it’s now in pre-registration on Android!
In Hidden Memories, our protagonist Lucian awakes with no memory of how he ended up in the bizarre Hidden Town. Assisted by a mysterious girl who may or may not have more sinister motivations, Lucian has to reconstruct the events of the previous night, but all with the promise things are going to be a bit more intense than expected.
Developer Dark Dome is no stranger to the concept of story-based escape-room puzzlers, considering they’ve already made eight of them. But with each boasting their own distinct story conceit, I think that if you’re looking for a competently-made narrative puzzler it’ll be worth a look.
Forget what you know
With such an extensive catalogue it’s almost tempting to think of Dark Dome as being more quantity than quality, but I don’t think that’s the case. Certainly they’ve got a genre that they’re comfortable sticking to, and – if anything – that gives me confidence Hidden Memories will be worth a look.
Promising plenty of challenges and intriguing puzzles, the premium version of Hidden Memories unlocks a new secret story and additional puzzles, as well as unlimited hints. So if you’re looking for a new, exciting (and potentially quite spooky) puzzle experience maybe it’s worth jumping into?
